Guiding Principles
Palmetto State Arts Education continues to build on an almost 30 year legacy of promoting and connecting all educators in the advancement of student learning in and through the arts. PSAE firmly believes in our mission of advancing education in and through the arts.
Position
Continued development of education in and through the arts is best accomplished through a strong unified voice with statewide partners that will ultimately strengthen and promote arts education in the lives of citizens across South Carolina.
Provide
The growth and expansion of arts education in South Carolina is an essential component of every child’s
education. By strengthening educator communities and offering quality professional learning opportunities,
educators are able to deliver more accessible education in and through the arts.
Recognize
Educator talent and innovation should be highlighted in a public forum as a means to recognize
advancements in education both in and through the arts. Highlighting educator talent and innovation not only
celebrates individual achievement but also benefits all stakeholders in South Carolina’s education system.
