Arts Assessment Institute

The Arts Assessment Institute is a dynamic, one-week intensive designed to help arts educators strengthen how they measure and support student learning. Offered in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Education, this immersive experience takes place on the beautiful campus of Converse University in Spartanburg. Participants will learn from a diverse team of experienced educators representing elementary and secondary levels and multiple arts disciplines, gaining practical, classroom-ready strategies to enhance assessment in arts classrooms. Whether you are new to assessment or looking to refine your approach, the Arts Assessment Institute offers meaningful opportunities for collaboration, reflection, and growth. 

Strategic Arts Planning Institute

​The Strategic Arts Planning Institute is a virtual, week-long intensive designed for school-based teams to focus on building actionable plans for the strategic growth of their arts programs. Led by a team of experienced educators, this collaborative experience provides dedicated time, guided support, and practical tools to help teams assess current programs, set meaningful goals, and map out clear next steps. Participants will leave with a customized strategic plan tailored to their school’s unique needs, as well as the confidence and clarity to move their vision for arts education forward.

Curriculum & Instruction for Artistically Gifted & Talented Students Institute

​The Curriculum & Instruction for Artistically Gifted & Talented Students Institute is a week-long intensive held June 15–19 in Summerville, designed for educators seeking to deepen their understanding of effective practices for artistically gifted learners. Led by a team of experienced educators representing both elementary and secondary gifted education, this institute spans both performing and visual arts disciplines. Participants will explore advanced strategies for designing rigorous, responsive curriculum and instruction tailored to the unique needs of gifted students in the arts. This institute builds on prior learning, and participants must have completed the Nature & Needs course as a prerequisite.
